DIETARY NEEDS – Field & Trial Maintenance is a nutritionally complete dog food, specially developed and formulated for any dog that requires a less energy dense diet. Typically, older or less active dogs or those predisposed to weight gain.
HERITAGE BRAND – The Stradbroke Mill in Suffolk has been in the Skinner family for seven generations and has been manufacturing complete dog foods since the early 1970s.
NUTRITIONALLY COMPLETE – Skinner’s Field & Trial now offers a range of 19 nutritionally complete diets for active and working dogs of every age, breed and activity level.
NATURAL INGREDIENTS – Skinner’s does not add any artificial colouring, flavours or preservatives to any of our products, where possible we try and use locally sourced ingredients surrounding our Suffolk mill.
MAINTENANCE – Field & Trial Maintenance is an oval shaped kibble to aid in feelings of fullness. It has a protein level of 18% and a fat level of 11% to support normal day-to-day activity and provides everything your dog requires to remain happy and healthy. “Packaging may vary”.

Our Field & Trial range has been developing since the early 1970s, when it all began with just two products. As our reputation grew and customers demanded different diets to suit their working dogs' needs, so the range has expanded.

Field & Trial sensitive diets for adult working dogs
Our Field & Trial sensitive diets have all been specifically formulated to exclude ingredients that are known to cause sensitivities or allergies. Therefore reducing the likelihood of associated skin, coat and digestive problems.
There are currently three flavours to choose from in the Field & Trial sensitive adult diet range.
Duck and Rice and Salmon and Rice are both big favourites with many of our customers, whilst the Turkey & Rice has the added benefit of a joint aid supplement. They are all free from wheat, maize, barley, soya and dairy products.
All three also contain glucosamine and chondroitin to help protect your dog's joints and mobility and they also include a coating of sunflower oil, which is a valuable source of energy and helps to maintain a healthy coat.
Field & Trial diets for less active or senior dogs
Our newly launched Field & Trial Light & Senior dog food is ideal for older, overweight or less active working dogs. It is wheat gluten free, made with easily digestible chicken and contains enhanced levels of glucosamine and chondroitin.
Like humans, some dogs can be prone to weight gain as they become older or less active. Neutered or spayed dogs can also be prone to excessive weight gain due to reduced energy requirements.
Older, overweight or less active dogs still need a carefully balanced diet with high quality ingredients to maintain their health and condition. Field & Trial Light & Senior contains everything required to keep your dog in the peak of health.
Field & Trial Maintenance for the closed season and Muesli Mix for added bite
Field & Trial Maintenance dog food is specially formulated to meet the typical needs of working dogs during the closed season. It contains all the goodness of chicken with cereals, oils and vitamins, but with a lower level of protein to suit a lighter workload.
Field & Trial Muesli Mix has been carefully formulated to meet the needs of working dogs with a moderate workload. It consists of a variety of tastes and textures coated in a delicious, moist wheat glucose syrup that even fussy dogs will tuck into and enjoy, every meal time.

We have a 2 year old chocolate labrador who has been trying to say the least! We fed her Wainwrights Turkey mix costing £37.99 for a 15kg bag. Was advised to get this as the high protein would make her coat shiny etc. We have struggled to keep her calm at times and would completely take silly mad turns however mostly she would hide under our bed for hours at a time and not want to socialise with our children at any times- a quick cuddle would be all she would accept before sullenly walking away. We had her at the vets to discuss this but there was no mention that her food might be the problem. After reading reviews I decided to try her on SKINNERS MAINTENANCE and I cannot begin to describe the transformation of her behaviour. She has completely calmed down and can trust her not to act like an idiot at the beach or park and she has become really affectionate lying at our feet at night instead of in another room. The kids are enjoying her change of behaviour and has completely become one of the family. I have not changed anything else and this change happened over the space of 2 weeks and therefore cant blame this on anything other than her food. Its lower in protein which may be the reason. Its extremely cheap due to it being VAT free which means I can spend the money saved on ME!!!!

Why did you choose this product over others?:Great dog food but shocking delivery. One bag we have been told delivered not received another bag being held. Customer service shocking.

We have had this food for our dog ever since he was a young puppy as through the years there were different types of the same branded food so now he is 16 years old we have the older generation of dog food. It’s excellent

Another excellent Skinners product.
Always used the muesli mix until it was out of stock so tried this Skinners alternative, my Springer loves it and it is so easy to use and transport for away from home feeding. Great product!

Simple easy and cheapest way to but this great dog food
This is the cheapest way to buy this dog food. It’s worth calibrating your deliveries (monthly, every 6 weeks etc) but better and cheaper than Mole Valley where I used to have to travel to and buy it- btw they charge £21 to deliver two bags. Go to Amazon is my advice

I’m quite happy with this dog food for my springers. Unfortunately I signed up to have it on my subscriber & save but more often they don’t have it & the replacement is more expensive. So I have to cancel my subscribe & save & buy as a one off. Doesn’t make sense subscribe & pay more.
